Couple of notes,  
1. the open source link no longer exists, they have renamed it to "Explore Qt Community Edition".
2. I tried just now to run the downloaded installer and very annoyingly, Qt requires you to first open an account with your email.  So in exchange for the open source version, they harvest email addresses to potentially sell.  You must log into this account during the install or it won't proceed.

Do you know how I can change the application icon that is displayed when launching the application? 
You can see that by default it is a gear displayed in the side taskbar, I am using QTcreator and linux ubuntu 24

I didn't realize this was a studio, I just wanted a library, I find this annying, create a library and then you need to use there software to use it. well I'll follow along and see if it's necessary to use there tools with there library.
Ok I googled it and I can just use the libraries, I should look before speaking...... lol
