@mertrap1

I hate when people say that Tara looks like a kid cuz she's short, let small women exist😭😭

@SlipperyGoober

Ive mostly faded away from Jake and Johnnie because it doesn’t really feel that same as it used to cause now it feels more like doing whatever to pay the bills but I personally don’t really like Jake and Johnnie doing the videos about getting drunk and things like that because from what I’ve seen a lot of Jake and Johnnies viewers especially are teenagers who have a parasocial relationship with Johnnie and I feel this could heavily influence them into bad habits

@RmanDrago_Gurl

I do think that Johnnie should handle his mental health with more care. Hating on him for not "having his life together" is probably the stupidest shit I've ever heard, but I think he should learn to manage what to share and what to keep to himself. It IS actively encouraging parasocial relationships in a way. I don't think it's good for him or for his audience. I don't think he should belittled or canceled for this, but it's worthy of criticism.

@fugitive_

I’m glad you brought up the addiction thing. I have tried to talk online about marijuana addiction before and so many people will just call me stupid for it. People don’t think you can get addicted to it, I know from experience that you can. I have had withdrawals from it. It can be used responsibly of course just like alcohol but you can still be addicted to it. I was unmedicated for ADHD, anxiety and depression and was addicted to it for 3 years. People with these mental health conditions are extremely susceptible to addiction. I don’t know much about either of their mental health but I do know from Nikki Carreon’s video about Tara that Jake is autistic and I know from experience that autism also has a high chance of getting you addicted to things. So many people wanna say it’s natural you can’t get addicted, you don’t get withdrawal but I’ve literally experienced it myself! It’s just as irresponsible as promoting alcohol to young viewers.

@poppyorsomething

dude i'm so tired of internet drama, i just wanna watch the people i like without worrying that they're not good people 😭 i'm not hating on you though, i know how important it is to talk about this stuff to keep people informed. but i'm just tired of everyone having some sort of controversy šŸ’”

@sawahlarge95

Everyone is problematic..literally everyone. These two dudes and tara are just people. And we as a society need to get off the internet lol

@WinterWinchester

I'm an older member of the alternative crowd and I like them all bc they remind me of my friends when we were younger. However, they are all grown ups and under no obligation to create family friendly content, so instead of blaming them for influencing minors, why aren't you blaming the parents for not monitoring their child's activities? It's like when adults in the 2000s got up in arms about Eminem influencing us as children. "Don't blame me when little Eric jumps off of the terrace you shoulda been watching him. Apparently you ain't parents." And as a parent myself now, I stand by that.

@foreverxmimii

Whilst I agree with your point about the murderabilia and food waste, like you mentioned in the video, Jake never claims to be punk and can just like the style which is fine! It would be a whole different thing if he actually claimed to be punk, but alas he doesn’t. Neither Jake or Johnnie have ever claimed to be ā€œkidsā€ channels either so if young children are watching their videos and being influenced by them, I think the blame should really go to the parents who aren’t monitoring what their children are watching. They’re grown adults, and we can’t expect all content creators to change and cater the content they enjoy making just because of their audience. Another thing I’d like to touch on is the suspicion by fans of drug use, spreading rumors like that can genuinely harm the creators image and be extremely harmful for their mental health, and I don’t think it’s okay for these fans (obviously not all fans, only some) to be making those claims with no proof whatsoever. CalDoesLife touched upon that in a video he made about Carrington and I’d definitely recommend looking into it. I think people in general just need to stop making so many videos about them (unless they genuinely commit a crime or something that truly should be talked about) if you don’t like them, just simply ignore them and go about your day (not using the term you as literally you the one who made the video but just as a general term for people). This comment is not meant as hate btw so I hope it doesn’t come off that way, I’ve just seen so many videos of people saying the same things and while they’re all valid points I think as a society, people should just stop putting so much focus onto content creators whom they don’t know (not just Jake and Johnnie). Anyways that’s just my opinion and my rant for the day. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

@Dazaisneckbandages

Ok but I feel bad for Johnnie because of the way others have been commenting on him and his gf:(

@t0m_b

i love the posters in the bg

@b.doherty8716

I just started watching some of their stuff recently for the first time, I had heard some stuff about Jake but wasn’t 100% sure what happened, that stuff is crazy thank you for explaining that.

@marsh23600

My problem with them is mainly wasting food on camera, and Jake not acknowledging he did promote serial killer items like it was some kind of mueseum artifact. He did say that he was not into that stuff anymore and it was just a big obsession he had for a while due to his autism. Another thing is the recent Carrington video where him and Jake are trying Lunchly vs. Lunchables, I feel like they got paid in that vid for approving Lunchly knowing how awful the creators behind it are and them just not being honest and taking the bag. Overall that isn’t going to make me stop watching them because they really make my day anytime they post vlogs. I am a bit worried for Carrington though.

@abbadoabbadon

Also not only did they hang out with Trasha Paytas, but also them hanging out with Caroline Carr and TX2.

@Art3mis28

Buddy did NOT just call PUNK and ALTERNATIVE the same thingšŸ’€

Punk is a political movement, Alt is an aesthetic. He is alt, not punk. And to label himself as punk is not only disrespectful to modern punks but to the movements as a whole and its effort to gain freedom for all.

@FriesAndThePurgatoryDwellers

I used to really like Johnnie’s content. But after I found out about Jake’s little hobby of praising serial killers, and Johnny just continuing to support Jake for that, I decided it wasn’t worth it. Sucks. I thought Johnnie was a cool guy.

@A_Fabulous_Killjoy

I hate how they started so off so cool and silly and now they just seem watered down and problematic. it’s honestly sad because i loved their content so much

@landminegrrl

everytime I hear the name "Bryan Stars" I get emo war flashbacks

@Sweetcerealpop2

I really like Jhonnie his videos are open and he opens up on mental health and he’s been through so so SO much he’s also a very good influence. Jake on the other hand I just distanced from his videos and kinda stopped following him. Jhonnie has always been like a supportive tiktoker/YouTuber, and he’s great, but him and his girlfriend need to stop getting hate :/

@1sirenamorena

I unsubscribed from jake and jhonnie once it started feeling like an alt hype house yk? it felt like i was watching the same video back to back collabs with tara and carrington. someone made a good comment where they said it feels like they’re just going whatever brings in more money. they forgot that people liked them for welp.. them. the og funny duo.

@teethtown8159

The "uppies" clip was a joke. She was joking. The belle delphine stuff is yucky, but the "uppies" was satirical.
