@bbujic

I hate you Dr. Cywes... because you are always right! At the age of 85 (male), and after being diagnosed with hyperinsulinemia and pre-diabetes, after a year on keto my markers are exactly where you wanted me to be (well, you do not know me personally)!
And kudos to Google, YouTube, and similar sources where I can access the best doctors in the world... for free. I love it!

@TheAdaptableAppalachian

In 2017 i was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I struggled with my weight for so long my doctor told me what to eat and i stuck with it. It was hard. and i was miserable. I still struggled every day. My a1c was 6.8 to 8.1 . My LDLs were around 160 on average. I was on ravustatin and trulicity. The statins made me feel completely miserable. In January i finally said. Im done. I completely cut out all processed sugars and fruit with high sugar like bananas and grapes. I cut out all starches. Instead of potatoes i ate air fried sweet potatoes occasionally. Stuck to red meats. Lots of chicken and broccoli and other low starch veggies. I eat alot more eggs. Everything i cook i either air fry, grill or bake. Every morning i wake up and drink a large tumbler of iced vinegar/lemon water. Now my sugar is at highest around 115 in the mornings i walk alot at my new job. Ive lost 36 pounds since January. My inflammation is so much better and i sleep so much better at night. Last week i ate a chocolate bar and the first time since 2017 my sugar didnt go up. It was 94 a hour later after eating that candy bar. And the weird thing is. I dont crave sugar anymore. At all. It's such a great feeling!

@nannygirlkc

I just had my yearly checkup and my triglycerides were 58 and HDL was 78!!! 🎯🎯🎯 I'm 72 and have been strictly carnivore for over a year. I didn't exercise over the winter, but recently started walking a mile each day. I also lay out in the sun for at least 45 min a day when it's sunny.

@tvtonite79

I'm VERY low carb/ketovore. Latest blood work: LDL 159 HDL 104 Triglycerides 38

@mr8966

I love the way this Dr. explains things; so comprehensive yet so easy for me to understand and grasp as a person with no biology education.

@rebageorgiadis3861

Great and timely video for me. Just had yearly bloodwork as 67-year old female recovering T2 diabetic. HDL was 97.5 and I was concerned about that and total cholesterol being 280! Trigs. are 70 and Hba1c is 5.2. My Dr is crying statins because of TC and LDL almost 190. I eat low-carb/keto for 4 1/2 years now and I feel/look great.

@dianneunderwood8456

What a good explanation of the role of HDL. In my 70's and recently had blood tests done to check on my cholesterol/trigycerides. It was a fasting test which also included fasting glucose. Don't have weight issues (about 100 pounds), but was shocked to learn my Triglycerides and LDL were above the normal range, HDL below and the glucose was above! Given I lead a healthy lifestyle, I realized immediately it must be diet related and examined what I was eating every day. It turns out I have been skimping on proteins and fats, replacing with higher volumes of carbs like crackers where favourite meals were rice bowls/ pasta bowls where there's lots of rice or pasta with little protein or fat. So I am adjusting to eating on a low carb diet with emphasis on more protein and (healthy) fats and when I next go for blood tests in 6 months, I can only hope it will show great results. If you have any other suggestions for me, I would appreciate any guidance you may wish to share. Thank you for sharing this information.

@gg456stormy

Diagnosed with T2D, hdl 32, triglycerides 160, 11.9 a1c, 304 fbg. 31 days later was 36 hdl, 90 triglycerides, 9.4 a1c, 104 fbg. Went lowish carb, eating more red meat and saturated fat. Love the hdl video, got to work on it. I'm 57 male.

@ejtullis

Recent blood work   59yoa male 195lbs ... total cholesterol 246, hdl 92, Triglycerides 50, fasting glucose 80

@Carnivorecatlover

Well based on this video I finally have some positive news. My HDL is up to 132. TG down to 88. My glucose went back up but based on his other video I will try upping fat to protein. At least now I know one thing is working right! Thank you doctor. I just discovered you. πŸ™πŸ»

@RC-tm8jo

My HDL went from 46 mg/dL to 79 mg/dL in 6 months on a strict ketovore diet with 19/5 intermittent fasting.

@softballbryan

Very informative video. Thank you soooo much for teaching us about hdl

@misterbaleize

When this doc speaks, I listen with great interest, especially that my HDL'S are at 2.85mmol/L - fantastic news; thank you.

@annabarendt1598

What I like about this video is that you explain the process behind HDL and how to actually work with it to make it. better, where my docs have always said "Your HDL is low; that's bad. We need to get those numbers up. Here's a pill." Thank you so much!!

@kathief3953

Finally, someone explains this where I can understand
thank you!

@vivianhudacek1556

So very helpful & reassuring! My doc wants me on statins, but I refuse & will continue to do so. He did frighten me by saying it’s not a matter of IF but WHEN I have a heart attack or stroke. I’m pretty sure I’m a LMHR. THANK YOU!

@sueferrell1932

Watching while waiting for appt. Will check my HDL when I get home. Seeing you in Sept!!!

@maryhaislip4519

Really wish I could afford you because your information is critical and is helping me make changes as I learned from you
