I can tell you 150% that this helps my child with Aspergers, now Autism AGRESSIOn enormously !! She's so much calmer and happier. Her stress level is now what I wld call on the same level as most children. Before the house shook at the rate of outburst, and heavy duty , I mean heavy duty out of control meldowns and attacks of aggression. She also told me she feels better on it. It has made her put a little weight on which concerns me long term. Id like to know more about long term suide effects though.

I was told by my parents I take Respiridone for my Tourettes. Now I think its for OCD and I don't know if the OCD has any tie to maybe Autism or something. I kinda feel like this drug doesn't help me it just sedates me or numb my emotions. My brother had Autism and commited suicide so autism is in my family

All I can say is that I took it for 6 years and I thought I did not like music anymore then I sold my entire vinyl collection (about 500 records in mint condition) for nothing. Then I stopped taking it and all my love for music came back, plus I now have a good libido and enjoy life more.

Risperdal actually a good drug except the weight gain part which is manageable through a strict diet and exercise for those with behavioral problems and such

Some doctor put me on Risperdal when I was around 10 or 12, for OCD. I was so sick I couldn't function. I remember lying on the couch and being miserable for about a week before my mom saw an ad in a magazine for it that mentioned it wasn't approved for use in children. I wouldn't give it to a child for anything, and probably not a teenager, either.

I've taken sodium valproate since I was 11 for epilepsy (trialing secondary anti-convulsant drugs till I was 20) and have commenced Risperidone last year for schizophrenia as I was suffering severe anxiety and psychosis (having to go to emergency on 3 occasions with a pulse rate of 230-240per/min). So far life's been going great with these two medications! Risperidone has to be one of the best psychopharmacological products available on the market! I'm a consumer and I will testify to that!

But for some people, dapakote, mood stabilizers, benadryl, melatonin, st John's wort, ginko, energems, green tea, ibuprofen, antipsychotic antidepressant anti anxiety medications, are helpful, healing, ; not every pill is for every person ; we must listen to people. We are accountable for how we knowingly choose to treat people. Some, not all, but some, gynecologist, general internist physicians, psychiatrist, nurses, police, parents, teachers, religious leaders, do degrade, violate, torture, oppress, exploit people. They are nurse rached Dr Mengle etc, , . But many people, doctors, psychiatrist, eye doctor, police, nurses, teachers, parents, want to be good, smart, scientific, useful, open-minded, compassionate, creative, healers, problem solvers, . But for many autistic, aspergers, child abuse victims, cult abuse victims, and some bipolar, and some schizophrenia , risperadol consta, risperadone, ambilify, ambien, antipsychotic medications, are poison, torment, sickness, behavior problems, etc, etc, . I have aspergers and was on it for my mood. I gained over 100 pounds and was so tired I was practically bedridden. Since I'm off it I've lost alot of weight and have more energy. My mood is better off it.

I used to think like this guy .. Until my daughter attacked herself and bit her lips basically off .. Now im like bring on any drug that will stop her from attacking herself .. And please sir if you have any other suggestions for sever brain damage on the occipital lobe that is apparently causing psychotic schizophrenic attacks please im open for any suggestions i was 100 % holistic until this nightmare we've been living

We live in a small town where our 17 year old son born with Down syndrome is the only child with Down syndrome. He has been on Respiridone for almost a year. He takes 4 pills a day. It seems to work with his aggressive behavior due to frustration like communication, his OCD. He has gained over 50 pds. We are seeing a psychiatrist to take him off this drug after reading and watching the videos You are right when you say does it really work, we would not really know as our son is non verbal and cognitively around 3 to 4 years old. Can't believe they give children this medication knowing that they cannot communicate how they feel.

thank you for presenting the other side of the story, I took an antipsychotic once in 1979 and got real sick, I was only 14, a lot of people are critical of our justice system, however the mental health is not as well known or criticized, I had bad experiences with them younger, they actually did some good when I got older, someone I know wants me take antipsychotics because they claim I'm edgy, or they tell me that need them when say something far out to be funny, they say it humorously themselves, they themselves are edgy and angry, in 1979 I had sleep paralysis aka twilight sleep and a doctor made a mistake and prescribed meds, I had some difficulties as I got older, however when you are labeled "mentally ill" it's like no wonder you got bad grades in high school, or if you're deep in thought, maybe medication will you!!!!!!! I am 'different' and okay with that, I have medications help, bet then again I always had a feeling that anything that can help can help, social workers may help, yet they at times seem anxious to write negative info. on your file, sometimes half truths or not true at all, I want to thank you for letting me be myself, "conform, go crazy, or become an artist" I got that from a t-shirt!!!!! I'm hoping to become an artist 😊🎨🃏✨

i took this drug for aspergers syndrome for about 10 years. i didn't notice any effect or side effect it might as well have been a placebo for my disorder. but i found an old bottle i haven't used so i plan to see what it does now

I just got put on this. I was on atomoxine and effexor already. I am autistic with adhd, bipolar, ocd, anxiety, ptsd, apd, rsd, and should I be concerned?

My nephew is severely autistic and he takes this drug and he is very over weight and he has huge 'man boobs' and my family is looking into suing the company because of this....I also know the kid I am talking of has a very poor diet....he eats lots of chips and cheeseburgers and fries and soda pop.....can any one tell me about these drugs causing man boobs? I know it has been linked to it but I am not so sure if it is mostly because of his diet.....or the risperdal....not sure of dosage.
