This is such a great resource for transfer applicants!
I love ur videos! Thank you so much for sharing me with the idea.
Hi Lucy. Thank you for taking the time to make this great video and I really appreciate your insights!!! If your why Northwestern essay is not personal and you have free time, could you please make another video reading your essay? That would be very helpful :) Thanks!
hi, for the common app essay is it fine if we reuse the same essay we use for our freshman application if my essay is about an activity i did during the summer between my junior and senior year. I was accepted to most of my schools such as Northeastern and NYU but regret not applying to the schools that I genuinely wanted to try for but felt like I couldn’t get in. I do think my common app essay is one of my strongest essay for my app so I want to reuse it but I heard that you shouldn’t reuse it because you’re a different person now that you’re in college. Also I heard that some schools don’t even read the common app essay for transfer students like Columbia so that could hurt my chances which I am concern about. Thank you!
Hey Lucy! I came across your videos of transferring since I am planning to apply as a transfer from a state school in Texas. I had a few questions and I hope you can respond if you can! Do you have any advice on this prompt? (What aspects of your background, your identity, or your school, community, and/or household settings have most shaped how you see yourself engaging in Northwestern’s community, be it academically, extracurricular, culturally, politically, socially, or otherwise?) I have no idea how to answer this prompt as a transfer since I feel like I included a lot of this in my why northwestern essay. Also, for the personal statement what should I include? Thank you so much!
Hi! I know i am very late but I was accepted to Northwestern University but unfortunately chose another route to Boston University, I regret not accepting Northwestern. I am afraid , so i appreciate your video!
love this!! well thought out and executed video :)))
Hi! This video is so helpful thank you! I was wondering how important do you think the midterm report is for schools like NU, Cornell, and Columbia - would it make or break my application?
Hi Lucy! You mentioned you had 2 letters of rec on file from high school, did you use them in your application? How and where did you acquire/incorporate them into your application? Just wondering if they were saved from your first-year common app and if you simply transferred them over to other optional letters of rec sections (personal/professional). Thank you!!
This video is very helpful!! I have a question.. I want to transfer to US and I'm now in a Korean university, I wonder my credit is eligible. I have done 110 credit and 6 terms.. Are there any disadvantages regarding my credit?? Thank you!!
This has been so informative! I have a question though, most schools I'm thinking about transferring to have no common app personal statement but have an additional "why transfer" sorta essay? has that been your experience too?
Do you think originally being waitlisted was helpful?
THANK YOU!
Hi. I had slightly above average gpa for high school with an upward trend all 4 years. First year in college i had a 4.0. Should I submit my sat to top colleges for transfer? I have a 1370
Hey! I started my studies in the Spring'23. So when should I apply for a transfer as Fall'23 would be my second semester and the transcripts for that would come in January'24 which might be after most deadlines. Please guide me through. Thanks!
Is there a section on the transfer application where they let you explain about what effected your grades (if you have a term or semester that’s a lot lower than your average)? If so, any advice on how to write an essay that doesn’t sound like an excuse? Thanks.
I though there was no personal statement essay for transfer students in the Common App. Only the supplemental essays (program specific). Am I missing something?
Hey I really hope your still active with these comments because I have a question.. I’m a sophomore in high school right now and in my junior year (next year) I want to go to a community college in Ohio and get college credits… I have a 4.2 gpa right now in highschool. If after 2 year of my Ohio community college, when I decide that I want to apply somewhere better like Northwestern, will my credits all transfer or is there a way I can see if they could? I’m just confused on how it works.. does it matter if I am in a different state and since Northwestern is a private school does that mean a lot of my credits may not get transferred???
Isn’t that the notification date for transfer is on May. I am wondering how you received ur decision so early
