very underrated video, inspired my to create my own dedicated server, and it should really get more attention
It's always the small channels that explain and relate the best π
You can also step into 8th gen intel hardware for ~$100, you go from 4 to 6 cores and you get a nice IPC bump too
Thanks for showing how easy it is to setup a home server! Just ordered a Optiplex 7050 Micro with a i5-7600T and I'm so excited to set it up when it comes in.
Great video and very informative!
Good video, understandable talking, a cool man. pretty good channel tbh
Great video, I have Crafty Controller on Docker/Portainer on my Ubuntu Server 24.10 install. I also use Casa OS for simple things like apps. It's interesting you can do it without forwarding ports, I had a friend who bought a L1 Dell Optiplex 7040 for Minecraft but we had to return it after finding out he was not allowed to port forward on his ISP router. If I would have know about this he probably could have set up his server.
Why in the ever-loving universe is this not the top result from any "easiest mineos replacement" search? You wouldn't BELIEVE the number of servers and management consoles I've installed/configged/nuked trying to get to where this video takes me in 15 minutes. I think I may have broken your subscribe button from clicking it so hard.
Amazing guide, Thank you sir
I kind of want to play around with stuff like this, but am reluctant to pull the trigger on getting a system for it as even though it's pretty cheap, I've learned since a young age to be miserly with my spending so I don't like to spend on stuff I'm not sure I'll be using and unfortunately I don't have too many friends/family that play minecraft or do other things a server would be good for. I also play pretty beefy forge modpacks like All the Mods which eat a lot of resources so not sure a cheap system like this would be enough. Vanilla is easy by comparison. CasaOS does look pretty great though, my limited experience with running server software was like cockpit which while it does the job to some extent this looks far more feature rich and flushed out.
For whatever reason my PC wonβt allow port forwarding for Bedrock Minecraft. I ended up just buying another copy of Minecraft and having an account host the world indefinitely. Not what I wanted but it allows 7 players simultaneously and render distance is per player, up to 96 chunks
Made similar setup but with n100 machine
could i do this on my normal pc as well
My granddaughter plays Minecraft at a friend's and wanted to play at my house. So, I built a CasaOS Minecraft server for her to play on. But, I cannot test it because the options I've tried tell me that I have to pay $30+ to buy it from MS. Is there a generic/open source version I can run for her? Any help would be appreciated.
Do you know how to upload playit to a server running fabric instead? Fabric servers dont have a plugin folder and dropping it in the mod folder does nothing
My mini pc 32 AMD cores 32gb ram 10T m2 , and fully configuration manual , lazy people have no skills π Arch Linux πβοΈ
