There's also a third book in the series called Writing the Kanji with Ease which lists all the 1,000 or so kanji you're introduced to along with an accompanying analysis and example sentences to help you learn them. Whats best about the book though is that at the back all the lesson dialogues are written out again but only in Japanese, writing from top to bottom and with no romanji which I find a good aid to reviewing each lesson. Use the lesson text to learn and the third book to review to stop yourself becoming over-reliant on the romanji.

@lozzoe

I just found this video now, and I've been trying to learn Japanese through DuoLingo for so long.... Mainly because I had to guess what the connecting characters meant, like を は の へ and I really think this book will help. Your review will help in convincing my parents to buy it for me, thanks!

@sincerelydami

Great review. I recommend that you use Memrise/Quizlet/Anki as a way of remembering the new words learnt.

@lorenzovonmatta8278

Thanks for the review dude. I've just started learning Japanese so this was a great video to watch. I also have Japanese Zero book haha. I will watch your other videos too to see you and your daughter's progress :)

@fvdg3

Thank you for the review. I got the Germany edition before two days and its similar to your one. I am so excited to learn Japanese and this video is so helpful and terrific.

@sabine9739

Thank you very much for your review, Luke! A time ago I first heard about Assimil in combination with the KOSYS-System (hearing with the skin).

@JamesMackenzie-sx2bu

You have a fairly modern version of Spanish. The Japanese course is the old 2 volume tortoise shell cover. Now that course is the same as the Spanish one

@MrRahulefe

Great review. Thanks man!

@radron33

I use whiteout on the pinyin on my Assimil Chinese. Plus the mp3 version has the characters only you can print out or just view the txt.

@jaguarazul

Hello Luke
My name is Matthew

I have looked for these books everywhere online, and can't find any of them for as cheep as you said.

I was just wondering where you bought the books + the CDs, because I haven't seen any that weren't extremely over priced.

@cj5273

How's your Japanese now?

@mjs28s

I heard you mention Japanese from Zero - have you done a review on those books? What did you think of them?

@yoshi31713

Great review, but... You couldn't have turned on the light?
