My maid is 50 years old. She knows only Kannada. When she goes to bank, bank employees speak in English and Hindi. At this age should she learn Hindi just to communicate with the bank employees? Bank employees should learn local language for smooth communication.

I m from Uttrakhand and a hindi speaker and I agree that the bank manager must learn kannada if she is working in Karnataka. How can u expect locals to speak hindi or other language. If she doesn't know kannada then she should learn it. Why can't Karnataka govt made compulsory criteria of kannada for govt jobs.

As per RBI instructions Bank Should follow Three language formula. She is in Bangalore ask to speak in Kannada. Bangalore official language is Kannada not Hindi or English ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಲಿಯಿರಿ

Pathetic manager, I'm not Kannadiga, but the audacity of her to say "I won't speak Kannada despite having major customers speaking Kannada? This is high headedness of this SBI manager. Atleast she can politely say that she is trying to learn Kannada. I won't speak Kannada is just high headedness.
