Quitting alcohol was the best thing I’ve ever done. Most of my friends drink but they simply don’t have that drive to quit. At least yet. Waking up with no hangover is the best thing.

The book “The Joy of Being Sober” by Catherine Grey stopped me drinking. Not a drop for 2 years now. Don’t miss it at all.

I agree, don't be a victim. Only courageous people are willing to pay the price for what they want, even if the price is death. Having say that, you can push to an extreme, trying to be so hard on yourself. Life is a struggle, a daily battle against our demons. Some days you win, and some days you loose. In the long run, keeping a warrior mentality, staying discipline and true to your goal, will get you to a next level, whatever that is, your next level. If you don't face your fears, you will never know yourself, and your fears will control you. Great stuff.

On November 1st of 2020 I found out about David Goggins. 2 months before that I went through a devastating knee surgery I ballooned to 298 pounds at 6’3 18 years old as a male. When I found out about Goggins I decided to change my life, and 4 months after in February I dropped a total of 80 pounds and I’m on my way to becoming a state trooper because I’ve always wanted to be one and I owe my whole transformation to Goggins. Religiously whenever I need motivation I come back to his podscasts, books and videos. Thank you all and god bless whoever is on their own journey

The part from 3:09-3:26 really hits home for me. I failed College Algebra during my very first semester at university in the Fall of 2017. I also had to retake Pre-Calculus three times and barely got through Calculus 1. It got to the point where the department chairperson told me that a STEM degree is not for me and suggested that I switch into a non-technical field. I never listened and continued to struggle/grind forward. I ended up attending my commencement ceremony with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology this past June, and I cannot explain how incredible that felt.

I've watched Goggins videos & read his book, Can't Hurt Me. Now I hear his voice in my head when I'm at the gym pushing my ass to the wall and beyond. He's my hardcore spiritual guide. So far as alcohol, I've been a teetotaler for years. Alcohol wrecked my brother's life & I was goddamned determined that wasn't going to happen to me. I don't smoke weed either. I don't like my mind being altered by chemicals. It makes people weak.
