Well of course I know him, he's me

Stingers and Iglas: We already did change the battlefield forever.
R&D Teams: Wanna see us do it again?

@noonenoesbutme

I went to the US Army school for the Javelin missile. I became my unit's Javelin trainer. I was so good at training new soldiers on the Javelin that I would teach groups of soldiers not even in my unit but who were assigned a Javelin (at The Box / JRTC :'( lol) and get them proficient enough to hit targets in about 3hrs.

It's a terrifying weapon, it's extremely expensive ($80k/shot), but it pops tank turrets 50ft into the air on fite and forget system that uses a booster rocket and then a primary rocket to send her into the sky and make determining where it was shot very difficult for the enemy.

Not a real MANPAD - maxes out for low flying helicopters - but for armor in the field it's ruthless. AND it came out like 1/4 century ago.

I bet 2025 state of the art is insanely good.

"HOW TO KILL A GOD" is a hard intro and I am here for it!

@angel102ify

"no one is launching a $100,000 missile to shoot down a $5,000 drone" I wouldn't be too sure, you forget the fact that the target of that drone might be a powerplant, an apc with a full squad of soldiers or an apartment block full of civilians, in which case the damages in lives and equpement are dwarfed by that $100,000 missile.

Seeing Brandon Herrera walking thorugh a car park in Texas with The Fat Electrician while he has an AT-4 slung over his shoulder is a thing to behold.

@gawkthimm6030

Ukraine has shown, with their autonomous sea drones with anti air missiles, that a fast moving mobile autonomous driven light vehicle with some manpad anti-air missiles is very much a requirement for modern armies..

@poodlescone9700

Remember the ultimate MANPAD, the Davy Crocket.

@hammeredbassman88

Simon, the sanitary products for dudes - priceless 😂😂

@mizake01

MANPAD, you'll never again regret peeing your pants on the battlefield with MANPADs from Boeing-Lockheed and TAMPAX.

@randomthoughts9463

Simon, THANK YOU for not way over abusing the term "Game Changer". That is a literary crutch most communicators get lazy with, and everthing is a game changer. My chicken ranch pesto sub is a "game changer" according to adverts...

@campagnollo

On a added note, most IR seeking missiles now incorporate a UV seeker, seeking the shadow source of UV lighting.

@bp968

Its only a matter of time before we start to see FPV style drones designed to deal with airborn targets. I can already think of a few fairly simple designs that could carry a payload into a commercial aircraft thats taking off or landing. You could even make a jet powered design using RC parts.

The next decade of drone development will be interesting to see.

@MADmosche

A little late to say these “may change the battlefield”, they already did that decades ago.

@Hathur

Fighter jets don't cost millions... they cost TENS of millions. You could fire 100 MANPADS at a single fighter jet and it will still be significantly cheaper than the cost of the fighter plane, even if only 1 of those 100 manpads hit.

@OdyTypeR

13:46 - as a former ordinary soldier, I almost missed this burn. 😁

Well played on the subtle delivery though 👏

@Machines.In.Action

Piorun should be #1. It is the ONLY one tachta works day or night and doesn't need any lounchpads or holding devices to work. Also has the highest range.

@rossjames9267

You put too much emphasis on what targets they are useful on. For 20 years, the javelin has been used on trucks, tanks, helicopters, low flying planes, and the occasional building. All the way back to the bazooka, you trained against the targets your weapon was intended for, but as the saying goes, if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

@V3RTIGO222

MANPAT vs MANPAD - one for tanks, one for aircraft
