Change “what you love” with “what you can tolerate the most”
Lots of bots under this video. It's funny how spam detection was one of the earliest applications of AI and yet we're surroundered by bots at the peak of AI age
Love your chill, wise, no-clickbait style
I reached $70k today. Thank you for all the knowledge and insights you've shared with me over the past few months. I am a single Dad and i live in Florida, i bought a new Car in September and i hope to retire at 55 if all goes well. Financial education is essential for over 70% of the population, as only a few are truly literate in this area. Thanks so much Angie Chen Owens
i hope i will meet a wealthy grandma and i won't have to do this career thing anymore.
I'm currently in my ikigai right now. I get paid a lot to make video games I care about and I love programming. Truly in heaven.
he's not fvcking around..not sugar coating anything..everyone should see this..these are the facts:trophy-yellow-smiling:
I wish we got this type of career prep talk back in high school. Thank you, this is very insightful!
I want to add that there are a lot of human-facing jobs in the tech sector that alot of people don't realize exist. I hear all the time about Comp Sci students who cant find SWE jobs, but that background has so many other opportunities beyond just SWE. Solution Engineers, Architects, Sales Engineers, Security Engineers, etc. can all make money. Some of the Sales Engineers at my company are making $600K+ and its a combination of people skills and technical skills. I think in the future of tech, thats what youll find quite often is that the remaining roles are often human-centric and require a blend of soft skills and hard techincal skills. TLDR: If you have a tech background, stop limiting yourself to just looking for SWE jobs and expand the scope of roles youre willing to do.
i would change the “what the worlds needs” to “where will your skills last the longest”
love the 3 circles diagram. i agree it's better/more practical. starting with what you're good at is great advice. keep 'em coming!
I'm teaching my kids to be entrepreneurs now. Working for companies is a dying breed. Get an idea, use AI to automate production, and make your own money.
Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means “a reason for being.” It’s about finding purpose or meaning in life. The 4 elements of Ikigai: 1. What you love - your passions and interests 2. What you are good at - your talents and skills 3. What the world needs - where you can make a meaningful impact 4. What you can be paid for - your potential for earning a living
This guide seems spot on. I think it’s good practical advice. I spoke to my career coach yesterday and this is practically the same advice I got. The timeline for the next couple of months is set. I’m 39, 40 in November. I spent time in college (graphic design), then trade school (IT) I’ll be using Security+, Network+, and CySA+ to leap frog quickly. Once I land the Cybersecurity job (something I’m good at + pays well) the graphic design work will be on my downtime (what I love) that’s how I will balance it. Life is better this way instead of a soul sucking retail job or entry level that will be automated out probably by the end of 2026.
I'm a med student at a top institution. Would caution people from pursuing medicine. Look up the recent paper on AIME. Models can outperform clinicians in diagnosis, empathy, triage. There's not the training data to replace surgeons yet, but alot of medicine can really undergo rapid transformation over the next 20 years. And for a career that has (4 year undergrad, 4 year grad, ~5 year residency) huge down payment, I'm not sure if it's worth the risk. If you have the capacity to get in, you can do many other things instead. Many other things that would provide much more money and peace as well.
The champs back with the sauce 🫡
Awesome advice. Truth is you have to put in the hard difficult challenging work in order to rest & relax. You work today to eat tomorrow. Unfortunately its a very daunting task most people find out to far in their life and wind up with nothing. Its not only about what career you want but where you want to live and how to reduce your tax bill. You will always pay more in taxes being a employee vs owning a business or investments.
Everyone who reads this, we don’t know each other and probably never will, but I wish you all the best in life and all the luck in the world. If you’re struggling right now, trust me—I know exactly how that feels. I spent years working hard but never really getting ahead. I thought success was all about effort, but I was missing something bigger. That changed the moment I read Manifest and Receive by Eva Hartley. I don’t know how to explain it, but my income doubled in just a few months, and for the first time, I feel like I truly understand how wealth works. If you’re reading this, maybe you were meant to. Wishing you all abundance and success. 💰✨
