@zejugames5045

Wow for a first-time pixel artist, your sprites look fantastic!

@e_buffturtle

Good first devlog! Remember to use a color palette for your pixel art, it makes all your assets look like they are apart of the same game world.

@NeatGames

Really awesome first devlog! I like doing visuals first too, I hate looking at really bad visuals while making the game. (Also makes for better devlog visuals too hehe) Keep it up :D

@xaroz904

man- my first game was a radial pong and this guy just makes a 30$ game... well done mate!

@eratus67

Btw if you want to learn good tips for aseprite :
AdamCYounis
Brandon James Greer
Pixel Overload
Saultoons
...
For tilemap / doing wall/floor etc.. on Aseprite you can go in "View(top left of the screen)> Tilemode > TIled on both Axes" than "View > Grid > Grid Settings > (change the width and height to the size of the cell (exemple: 32 and 32 (32X32) x and y are just there to change the origin of the grid)
Very cool pixel art tho

@ElliotIF

This was all over the place and im 100% here for it lol
Looking foward to where this goes to!

@Saiiryn

Super excited to see where this project goes.

@mindcool24

Fantastic pixel art! Very enjoyable dev log, looking forward to new ones

@vincewa2142

Nice vid great work. A tip for the chest dropping in. Instead of animating it. It will probably be easier to just use code to have it transform.translate down into the view of the player. When the movement is finished have it play the animation of it bouncing back and forth. Will save the time and hassle of making a larger sprite just to add a downwards movement. Good luck with the game.

@Ben-yl5hf

Dude your art is crazy good

@DraconicSlimeCrafter

"It's 1 am, I have work tomorrow, let's gooo-"
I felt that on a spiritual level XD

Joking aside, great stuff so far! It's always interesting to see how fellow new game developers go about dealing with their challenges. πŸ‘
Good luck with the project!

@noise_dev

wow, so clean and nice pixel art! great man!

@DevlogBill

GameDev, your making good progress with your C# code. Keep up the good work!

[ spider curving shot ] ---

I would recommend adding bullet drop to the game, specifically to the spiders shots. however instead of making the direction of the bullet drop down compared to the body of the shots adjust it so that it's going left or right of the body...
this would cause each shot from the spider to curve counterclockwise or clockwise from the player's perspective.

I think this would give you the curve you're looking for, while still leaving it predictable enough for a player to avoid.

ps
congrats on the 1, 000 subscribers! πŸŽ‰

@twomur_

i really love the presentation of your video and your game idea seems really cool and really doable! keep up the great work can’t wait for the next devlog!!

edit: also i absolutely love the sketches you showed off i feel like sketching with a pen and PEN ONLY really inspires me to make concept art and stuff

@MirroYT

You are doing pretty well for someone who has no experience!

@SSMLivingPictures

Love the background music. Not sure if thats just a licence free random non-obstructive choice, but the jazz lover in me is nodding my head...and bobbing it πŸ˜…

@XaverMC

Keep up the good work

@soulessnic1158

Love the video! What was the C# course you took?

@SSMLivingPictures

Same here! First timer with a bit of self-guided learning in my pocket and a background in art / music. I was hoping to find a community of people with similar situations. Perhaps I found it? Lets do this!!!
