Imagine sending out a mass email complaining about your boss, and not knowing how it would go.
The word “fired” needs to stop being used to describe issues with military personnel. You are not fired in the military you a relieved of command. They are still in the military until administratively separated, dishonorably discharged or choose to retire after being given a “punishment” job they do not want.
You can absolutely despise your boss, but don't be dumb enough to put it in writing for all to see.
If ever you want to be relieved of command, this is a fine way to accomplish it.
This shouldn't surprise anyone. Insubordination is grounds for dismissal every military that has ever existed. Being fired amounts to a slap on the wrist, so she got off easy for it.
This is how you Tell everyone you don't want a promotion to Brigadier General.
Anyone who has ever served knows better than to do what she did.
When you're in the military, you don't get to criticise your superiors. At least not publically! You say yes sir, right away sir, and save your grumbling for your friends.
When you're part of a machine, you can't march in your own direction.
Sometimes people become "too big for their britches" she essentially sabotaged her career & credibility in one single swoop, this is why you NEVER THINK WITH YOUR EMOTIONS.
She served as a commissioned office in the Armed Forces of the United States. Public disagreement with national policy while acting as a commissioned officer is a reason for the Executive Branch to lose confidence in that Officer's ability to lead and so request resignation.
That Colonel must be out of her mind for doing that. That s not an opinion or stance that a military member even allows themselves to entertain, much less express.
These people can’t help themselves
Doesn't matter what you think of it, as a military officer it is your duty to show respect to National Command Authority
Shrewd way to get out of her Greenland command.
If you’re an active duty military, you need to put politics to the side. Talking negative to the commander in chief 2nd in command is worst then talking negative to a 4-star general.
Any military commander knows better! You’re fired!!!
The same outcome in the private sector. Insubordination and showing up your bosses will get you fired every time. Not a very smart woman.
Doing what she did was tantamount to canceling her career. Any soldier knows you don't talk bad about the leader especially your commander in chief.
