Enjoyed the video. Something I've learned as a retail investor is that most of the IPOs I can access I don't want and most of those that I want I can't access.
In India, security regulation ensures that 15% of any IPO has to be available to retail investors (defined as accounts that invest less that USD 2700 approx). Even still most investors do not get any shares (since the retail portion of any ipo is often 10x oversubscribed) but atleast some lucky investors do get shares at the ipo price.
I had a father-in-law that did IPOs with his company on Wall Street. Sometimes he would allow me to buy a few shares. It was always a small amount. I thought he was kind.
This channel is so underated, thank you for spreading true value my friend.
Patrick, I am glad I found your channel. Thanks!
I want to press Like before watching because I have greatly liked all of Patrick's past videos.
Love the stock footage of the guy using a comically large calculator on an iPad to add 319 to 858. 😂
What I like about Patrick is that he puts out well thought out stuff, he isn't just posting stuff for clicks.
" IPO, It's Probably Overpriced" - benji graham
Rebate and flow as well as marginal lending are their main cash flow. Retail investors should caution about the narrative of close to zero trading fees. Please note that Robinhood was in fact paying $65 million penalty to resolve the regulator's charges. Everyone should pay close attention on their misconduct.
Dear Patrick, your videos truly are a treasure of financial education on this platform. I humbly request you to do a video on your take on the fed, it's bond buying program, inflation and how all this relates to asset pricing. I know many other's have done this topic, but I would really love to know what you make of it, as I find your explanations of quantitative finance so lucid. Thank you again for the great content :)
Giggled when Chamath got a cameo
Watching you is such a treat❤❤
great video Patrick. you have a great cadence. so tired of YouTubers pumping get rich quick schemes. you're taking a much more educational approach in trying to talk about what's happening in the world of finance. love it.
Thank you Patrick. Your videos are terrific.
great Report
Love Patrick's work, he's balanced and factual. I thourgly recommend his documentry on Ponzi.
Your videos have been very informative and interesting to me, and I love the slight snark every now and then. Thanks!
thank you for the content. I would love to hear more on these wealthy investors which investment banks provide some of the deals which are not provided to retail investors. Another example is the convertible bonds that CS recently offered. Questions that come to mind are: why only them ? how are these clients selected ? how much money you need to have ? what is their strategy ? how do they move money ? what else is special about them ?
