@thebottomband

Before flashing lights a turntable must have anti-skate, adjustable tracking force, and pitch control. It's the law.

@83Roboto

I purchased this TT a few months ago. At the time Amazon was out of stock on it so I ordered it from Fiio's official store on Aliexpress. My unit is the silver non BT model and it did come with the remote control. Not sure if Fiio made a change or maybe the product info. on Amazon is incorrect. I like the TT very much. I think that it is reasonably priced for what you are getting. Which is a well constructed quality entry level TT. Also bare in mind that units that would sell in the $199 category may not be fully automatic, contain a pre-amp that is the same quality and not to mention the TT can be remote controlled. I haven't seen any other mfg. making a TT that is remote controllable at that price point or even higher.

@robinkleinsteuber5217

Even as a beginner turntable, Fiio really ought to include anti-skate. And it would be nice to put the record size selector at the front. Fiio can do it, so they could come out with a Mk 2 variant with these additions?? It's a good first attempt, Fiio, with a turntable, but suggesting a Mk 2 version. My 2 cents worth. Cheers! πŸ‘πŸΊπŸΊ

@IvyMusikkFM

Glad to see a neat turntable like this with a magnetic cartridge! A lot of them have ceramics

@ethelryan257

Very good review. Thank you.
The lack of anti-skate at that price is a complete, total, absolute deal-breaker.
For that money, I expect the turntable to handle even the innermost part of the groove on a recording with strong sibilants or lots of transients. Something like Gordon Lightfoot's 'Sundown' album on which one can really hear the difference between a turntable which the manufacturer just phoned in the engineering (such as this one) and a turntable at a moderate price which can actually handle tough tracks.
I don't mind the lack of a switchable pre-amp so much - at this price I'd rather have a decent one with RIAA correction built in than the cheapest Amazon special.
Nice design, pity the automatic drops the stylus too fast.
If they had just put in anti-skate, damped cueing and seen to it that the table actually was speed adjusted at the factory, I'd have seriously considered it for one of my grandkids who are into vinyl. Trouble is, in 2025 those teenagers are immersed in a vinyl culture which is now self-aware enough to understand why anti-skating is needed.

@SRX2004

Nice video. This is not worth the price. I'd rather have the Audio Technica.

@ozzyprogdomino8815

looks very cool. I like it.

@scooterboi8761

I just got the silver one. I love it's looks (I'm really lusting for a B+O TT) and now that I'm older, my hands are tremorous, so I wanted a fully automatic. I did upgrade to an elliptical stylus from LP Gear and a rubber mat. The remote is a nice touch.

@jro7075

I immediately thought of you when I saw this TT on a different channel cause of the lights ,I like this TT I think it is a great beginners TT on the price I thought 200.00 for the regular TT and 240.00 for bluetooth version I was hoping yoy would reveiw this turntable to get your thoughts the other guy I forgot the channel did not do such a thorough review like you do he did not check speed ,antiskate nor the power requirements when you review I know it will be a very good one !!!! @AG-bp3ll

I can't think of a feature I want less on a turntable than RGB. No anti-skate. Learned my lesson with the Project T1. Your tonearm starts pulling too hard you are screwed as it can't be adjusted or repaired. There is no reason to adjust it is great if they do it right at the factory. I heard that same argument on the T1 and it was not set right at the factory and was a nightmare skipping and jumping out of grooves on records.

Classic Record-ology, I dig daddy-O !! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

About tracking weight for elliptical styli... it does not need to track lighter, due to its tip shape.
The tracking weight is mostly chosen by the stiffness of the tiny rubber socket in which the cantilever sticks.
That rubber socket needs to "know" what is a movement made by the weight of the arm and cartridge, what is movement by transport over the record including going over small wobbles or of course going from the right to the left while playing, and the micro movement which is the actual sound that is etched into the groove wall.

So when it comes to tracking weight, the rubber socket needs to be soft enough to let the needle tip gently but firmly sit in the groove and follow the movements. But it also needs to be stiff enough not to let the needle "fall through the knees" and ride low. By choosing the kind of rubber, therefore you select the appropiate tracking weight to be set.
Audio Technica (just as all the others) pick the correct rubber for that. So if they sell a conical tipped needle for the AT3600L, they know it's going to be played with 2,5 - 4 grams. When they (or a trusted partner or OEM manufacturer) sell an elliptical tipped needle for this cart, it is supposed to track at the same weight of 2,5 to 4 grams.
So if you found an elliptical for the 3600L, just trust that it will work here.

BUT, Audio Technica also had the AT91 series cartridges. They look (and probably are) exactly the same, plus the needles are therefore totally exchangeable with the 3600L (including that L). But the AT91 series usually use needles that track at up to 2 grams!!! So if you have a player with a counter weight that can be set to 2 grams, it's okay. But not with fixed arms, which are set for 3 grams and up. A needle for the AT91 will just ride very low and will not perform well. Be aware of that. They are all good, but pick the stylus that's right for the tracking weight, so if it's fixed at 3 grams or higher, only use neeldes for that.

(I remember you saying something like it somewhere, but I posted it since you mentioned elliptic here)

@MikeMargolis-j8f

It's incredible to me that tons of these cheap tables keep rolling out, yet Blu-ray, DVD and 4K BD are slowly (or not so slowly) disappearing.

I love vinyl as much as the next dude, and loved using it when I was a mobile DJ, but it's just beyond me how a technology that can be traced back to the electric light continues to be more popular than disc-based commodities.

@CuttinChopps

Wow, what a sharp looking TT, an actual good cart, oh man what a BUMMER on the anti scate!! That's a show stopper for me! Man! It's SO CLOSE to being an amazing recommendation! Should get rid of the dumb lightup fiio logo and give us antiscate instead! Thank You for your review!

@ewthomp

There are album "picture frame" things out there that you can hang on the wall to fill the void! Love watching your videos, keep up the great work.

@johnmarchington3146

The lack of anti-skate is disappointing and having the disc size selector at the back of the turntable is a bit of a problem too. It sounded pretty good.

@dhpbear2

17:25 - That cartridge is being drawn toward the Philco knob! :)

@TheAndy1268

Nope, nope, nope. Adding a fancy automatic 'mechanism' and an LED strip to it are nice touches, but what really matters is how it plays the records. And that's where it falls short. The lack of anti-skate totally spoils it for me. The tonearm weight is not adjustable, so they should have designed it with a fixed anti-skate. Even the cheapest Skywin 'cruisers' have that. Or the LP60 with the same cartridge as the FIIO. Also, having to reach behind the player just to change the record size - without even being able to see it - is just stupid. It's an electric switch, so they could have put it anywhere - even on the remote control. The tonearm and cartridge assembly has an LP60 'feel' to it, and that makes it look cheap in my opinion. There's nothing wrong with it, but it looks wrong. The 'RCA' style ground connection is odd, but whatever. The price is OK, but the device has just too many (easily avoidable) flaws. Thx for this review, it might help users stay away from it.

@MuzikJunky

Elements of the design are so painfully awkward! Is it really so expensive to implement automatic size selection (or place the control for it in the front) and quartz lock? Peace.

@lorneh8642

Good looking turntable.
