Wow, finally some clarifications about the huge amount of models! Thanks
My last two dentists would agree with this. There's NO benefit to the more expensive toothbrushes. Once you've got an Oral B / Sonicare, you're there. All of those extra modes aren't going tog et used, and even if they did, are just doing the exact same thing -- brushing your teeth. Technique is the next problem for most people. The Oral B will clean better as long as proper technique is used. That said, most people use it incorrectly, so might be better served with the Sonicare. I will say, the Oral Bs I've used last forever. 10+ years on each.
Exactly the video i was looking for. This topic was a challenge for a while
Oral B brushead has a slot or hole in it that lets in schmutz and gunk that coats the drive shaft and mold up as you brush over time.
I’ve had both and the Sonicare Diamondclean 9300 is my fave !
Thank you for the sounds comparison, what the work! 🙌🏻
Thank you. Settling on one has been doing my head in today! I just got the SC 3100 in the UK so many thanks. Sadly I’m not expecting this one to be as good as the old Sonicare I have which has just died on me after 5 years but hopefully not too dissimilar.
My hygienist say get an electric tooth brush. Your data had truly HELP for my first Sonicare
Personally having used both, I find the sonic brushes get between the spaces in your teeth far more effectively. The oscillating action of the oral-b misses the smaller gaps.
Im a sufferer or gum recession and lately i've kept noticing that frontal top teeth keeps building up plaque just at the gumlines and the sonicare never managed to remove it unless i angled the bristles and jammed them in. According to my dentist's followups it was most probably made recession worse. Oral B had no issues what so ever.. Also there is some inevitable buildup on sonicare connection point that makes the toothbrush more noisy and become less vibrating..i dont have needled that are narrow enough to reach all the way. Just a headsup that sonicare might be a future hassle for you
Sonicare brushes a little better but is less reliable than the Oral-B. It’s like comparing a BMW with a Lexus. A BMW performs better on the track and has a better interior but the Lexus just lasts forever and costs less to maintain.
i suspect oral b has a better more agressive marketing because they seem to be the most recommended but end users appear to typically prefer philips. i would love to see a disclosure on this video. who is paying the piper?
I have both. I can tell you for a fact the sonicare is much much better. In every single way
Really as a commentator says - be an analyst. Unequivocal honest and professional. Its December and both are $39 on Amazon discount - leading towards sonic 4100 for soft bristle which i have manual toothbrushes. Aquasonic Black Series Ultra Whitening Toothbrush has sales of 116.000 so i wish to have a look at it too.
Oral B IO has replaceable batteries, at least some of them. That is a HUGE difference. Also, as you said, it cleans better but is noisier. Also, there are 3rd party replacement heads now, so the head cost is about the same between all toothbrushes.
All my Phillips SC seems to die in less than a year due to battery, I had plenty of them in the past 10 years. Just switched to Oral B and I definitely feel like it cleans better. Can't talk about their longevity yet.
Thank you so much. You have made my life easier
i have the sonicare 9000 with the glass charger (while is very good being my first for the transition to an electric toothbrush from plain) the app doesnt have the tracking capability and it needs too much time to connect! i want to use oral b io10 maybe its a better app but the loss in quality (case etc) makes me think twice! thank you for the great vids and for the sound part haha
Having used a "regular" Oral B and a Sonicare, Sonicare is what I preferred in the end for the more gentle brushing they offer compared to Oral B. Oral B feels very aggressive during the time I used it where the Cross action brush head irritated my gums during the first 5 or so uses. This is clearly not the case with Sonicare where both me and my gums enjoyed it much more and I basically have no complains for the brushing and cleaning sensation of a Sonicare toothbrush. But then Oral B releases the io and since I have never used one I need to ask out of curiosity : Is the Oral B io more gentle with brushing to the point that it will remind me the brushing of a Sonicare or the io is as aggressive in brushing like a "regular" Oral B is ?
