@JoshtheFifith

new interview questions "can you walk on water?"

@jameshaley6939

Thanks for being honest. So many fake videos on YouTube still giving people false hope.

@Faradaybear

Graduated back in 2023 with a BS computer engineering, at this point I'm willing to hunger games for an entry level position ;-;

@williamgregory1848

Job: “For this entry level position that pays $55,000 a year, we’re looking for those with a master’s degree, 10 years of experience, 8 references, can solve world hunger and is already employed here.”

@blakelmj

Job market is like Tinder right now. Recruiters are always searching for a unicorn who knows every tool that their company uses. I had an interview through a consultant where I answered 9/10 questions and their feedback was that I don't anything about python. I call B.S.

@AudibleKingdom

Omg bro you really hit right on the nose. In 2021 I thought I was in top of the world and recruiters were practically begging … fast forward till now not only cannot get a job employers want 27 years experience and pay 48k a year to have knowledge in 35 different tech stacks

@rainierdigitalsolutions

Took two years and like 500+ applications to finally get a role.

@user-yq7yi3dm8m

Tech isn't a career. Tech is a series of temp jobs before you go get a job stocking shelves at the grocery store.

@StayHardened

Amen to that… it’s a horrible job market these days

@mehlover

Man, i switched back into learning programming during the pandemic, and now i feel like i got played. Because what seemed like a "safe" and "secure" job with a high job market now comes crashing down

@ballerina3483

I already saw that coming the way companies were pushing for people to enter software engineering. We really thought they are not going to come after our bread.

@StuffedCrows

They kept telling everyone to "get a real degree" now look what happened. As soon as the supply outstrips the demand there isnt any difference between a fine art and comp sci degree

@KBlade1

In 2021, everyone was actually hiring😂 There's some phony bologna spit going on in 2024.

@giotti333

Sorry everyone, but it’s time to wake up. The tech industry as it was between 2007 and 2022 is gone for the foreseeable future, and it won't return anytime soon—at least not for a period longer than you can afford to be unemployed. There are moments when it's time to make a change, switch industry, and that time is now. Even if someone manages to land a job, there’s no guarantee the company won’t downscale in six months. With money being tight, the tech sector is returning to the job demand levels of around 8–9 years ago.

@AColonDashSix

Entry lvl position: we need 5 years experience

Me: I have more than five years experience

Manager: still no.

@CrossfitWarrior

I work in cyber security and the experience has been pretty similar lmao. Me and my entire team was layoff in Sept and just got a contract to hire position this month; where usually I would have found something within 30 days.

@feezee82

I struggled to get my first job in tech back in 2010. Haven’t been unemployed since. Although starting from late 2022, supply of tech jobs and projects has shrunk significantly and it’s much harder to get a new job now compared to pre pandemic. My advice to people without a job now is to apply for anything and everything in tech. Agree to any salary - something is better than nothing after all. And in the meantime, study AI and LLMs and hope for an improvement in the market. This isn’t the first time tech is struggling, but it should get better.

@embatbr

I am 9 years working as data engineer. Program since 2005. But yet some interviewers want to check my coding skills with lame tests with tricks.

@faisalraj6654

An interview question. Can u write an algo to create one of you that is available 24/7.

@redlotuslove1

Ok so I'm not the only one.😂😢
