"... decided to do some stunts about it.." needs to be the next catch phrase in the ever-growing Catch Phrase Cinematic Universe
3:35 I love that the Delorean comes apart like legos. No welds, no crumple zone. Just shatters.
To be fair... a lot of old West cemeteries had tombstones with epitaphs that indicated how the person was killed. "Here lies Lester Moore - four slugs from a .44 - no Les no more" is a famous one seen in the actual Boot Hill cemetery in Tombstone AZ.
1:18 Marty and his mom being soulmates across time is um... is certainly a choice.
I love that he really came back with this Pitch Meeting at the time he said he would in the last BTTF video
Old tombstones used to actually list details of cause of death for some reason. No joke
I'm not one to try and cap off franchises, but I have to admit that Back to the Future 3's ending perfectly wraps up the trilogy. Everyone's got a happy ending, and the future isn't set in stone so they can control their own destiny. Really doesn't need a sequel or a remake.
Old West epitaphs actually did contain a wide variety of unique info beyond name and dates. Remember, there was no way to effectively catalogue the dead so sometimes the epitaph would document.
About the tombstone, I could see Doc leaving instructions to put his cause of death on it. That way if it said "Passed peacefully in his sleep" or "Died in the throes of passion with 6 women", Marty wouldn't feel the need to go back in time to try and save him.
I will never get tired of the "Oo-ooh" “Oo-ooh" bit.
He promised we’d get part III in March, and he delivered!
4:12 this "NEVER" to any reboot was a very Zemeckis and right thing to say ❤ Edit: and of course to Bob Gale, Producer and Writer, it is their shared miracle and both protect it
4:16 There was a 26 episode "Back to the Future" animated series, set after the third film. Pretty good, if I remember right.
0:53 let me be the 100th person to say, the DeLorean did get to 88 miles per hour at the end of Back to the Future 2. While in flying mode, the car is capable of moving in any direction at any speed. The two trails on fire left in the air as the DeLorean disappeared show us that the car instantly hit 88 due to the flight controls and before leaving a trail.
0:50 I believe Doc said in his letter that when the Delorean got hit by lightning it supercharged the flux capacitor. It’s not able to travel without going 88 unless Marty wants to figure out how to get struck by lightning again and hope it produces the same result.
Well technically they couldn't use the Delorean that Doc arrived in because he had to hide it so Marty can use it in the future. If they took it then Marty couldn't have come to the past, causing a paradox.
The piece of metal on his chest bit is a reference to Fistful of Dollars. Eastwood (whose name Marty uses to protect his own identity) does it in his plot to take out a gang that outnumbers him.
I always thought Doc's kid pointing at his own crotch was blooper where the kid had to pee so he was pointing at his crotch to signal it, but it accidentally got left in the film. So glad to know it was actually pitched by the writer!
"I never would have written that, I don't want that to happen to Marty!" Most accurate description of Plot Armor.
