This really does show the differences in culture that the US and Sweden has. In the US adds they show how the soldiers are theese badass guys who fight for king and country, and in Sweden's adds they show how even though you're having it nice and cozy in your developed countries, shit is going down in other places that you can only dream of. And someone has to deal with it. In the US they sell glory and patriotism. In Sweden they sell humanitarian rights. Although that's just my 2 cents.

It's showing how other people have to live their life in contrast to ours. "Look at the shit happening beyond, do something about it." It's also important to note that Sweden doesn't have the same connection to patriotism that America does, that is "join the army= become national hero". Swedes join primarily to make a difference. And to be honest, I've seen a fair few of screwed up marine ads that focus on some Call of Duty shit.

Being a swedish man, we close to never see any advertisement for our military. Whether it is on television or otherwise. It's a rarity, I find. Maybe I've missed one or two, but I don't notice it as much. Now, moving from Sweden to America, for a bit, things are a wee bit different. lol It's two different worlds. I've never been to the U.S. of A., but I almost don't have to, in order to realize the feel of it all. Military here and military there. You guys have so much military, it shoots out of yours noses. It's not a pretty thought. Focusing on that point only, I'm glad we don't have near as much military-action over in this relatively calm and silent nation.
