@oregonfelder1

I love how your entire (or mostly) entire video(s) are based purely on notes you took in your journal. I think it’s a testament to the value of such a practice.

@omishu

Man you have absolutely no idea how much i want to cry right now, I have been needing a mentor to help me go through self-discovery and making myself more concious and aware of my own thoughts, i tried reading, i tried journaling, but I always ended up with the same conclusion, I needed someone to help me, to guide me through it. I sumbled upon your "ntebook to save you from infinite scroolling and boredom" video and the relief it gave me. I'm going to binge watch all of your videos tonights, even though I know you wouldn't aprove of that. Thank you so much.

@AllTheArtsy

I feel like this is the simpler, consumer-level words for the types of notebooks:

Self-mastery: planner
External thought collection: commonplace
Internal thought collection: journal

@DynamiteBlues

I got to many pocket notebooks because of you.

@oupwo7468

I work a job in an isolated place with no internet. My notebook saves me. I doodle in it, write random stuff, to graphics and all. It helps dealing with boredom and loneliness.

@utkudevrim

My English is not good, but I am trying to understand and apply your narratives from automatic translation and with my little English, your channel is very nice, I have not come across someone who explains as detail and beautiful as you, thank you for helping me light a light bulb in my head on this subject.

@JollyJupiterr

I want to use mine for wonder and curiosity. For example, if i'm bored in a waiting room, I can observe the cars out the window or watch the staff. Then I can jot down simple questions such as "why did the person sitting across from me visit here?" Or, if i'm going shopping with my mom I can observe people and write down "Is this woman looking in this specific isle for *** or possibly *****?" Just simple questions to keep my mind entertained while diving deeper into self education and random critical thinking. May seem weird to some, but to me it's better than video games and scrolling.

@Eccentricphilo

📓I give mad respect to you for all that you do and your notebook taking is a lot more organized and is inspiring!
Especially the 7 YouTube channel pursuit.
I'm trying to get my one in the big leagues knowing I'm hitting 6 different topics/goals!

And I use the small notebooks as all 3 in a way plus record keeping. Then dump the important bits in my monthly journal of progress!!!!

@Will_theIV

📓I definitely use my pocket notebook as a true catch-all. Everything goes in there. I use a Rite in the Rain 3.5x5 inch soft cover sidebound memo book which I think is an underrated gem in the world of pocket notebooks. More pages than a Field notes and much more durable. Waterproof pages and cover. Solid horizontal ruling and then dotted vertical lines so you get a hybrid grid that is great for note taking and sketching. Also the notebook is a tool all on its own, on the back cover is an imperial and metric ruler and inside the front cover are various map scales and measurement conversions. The only down sides that I have found are that the coating on the pages is unable to properly take gel or fountain pen ink and the edges aren’t coated as far as I can tell. So a prolonged soaking will eventually cause some damage, but I’ve never experienced that.

@kadesharp6658

Please do one on a day in the life with your notebooks and please do more on your compendiums and deep thinking journals.

Also, how do you use a journal when you read?

@ceres090

My first notebook was in 4th grade. I had a very rowdy music class where we didn't get much done, so to entertain myself, I started taking notes from all the boards and advice my teacher had written on the wall. It was all handmade by her and a lot of it was information her own teachers must have given to her. I had that notebook until my mid-twenties when I was forced to leave it behind in a move.

@LilCraftyNook

I am a papercrafter and I use these often. I buy the composition books (mini, half, and full) and decorate them!! 😊 I have several videos on same.

@captainnolan5062

A fourth type of notebook is the "Log" notebook (like a ship's log). This can be used to keep track of work on projects; logging what you have done, research you conducted, reading completed, actual progress and work you have done on the project, etc.

@jiffy5210

bro got a distracting moustache

@Hafiz369

This 18:55 minutes are the best knowledgeable content I have ever seen on the internet or YouTube , since i started watching YouTube on pocket notebooks .

@damsol861

I have a bullet journal, a diary/journal and a pocket notebook to write ideas 💡

@lucasjankowski7117

I also use three pocket notebooks, though I divide them quite differently:

1. Self improvement (both my own words and quotes from others, that serve as a guide to help me become a better person).

2. Mini commonplace book - all the mixed knowledge from various branches of science (including citations and my own reflections on them). All the things from this mini commonplace books later on are revised, transferred and organized in a larger commonplace book.

3. All the daily stuff - ideas or thoughts, that may seem useful later on, short impressions, etc.

Except pocket notebooks I also use a calendar to structure my daytime activities and write to do lists.

@trublgrl

I use a traveler's style journal with four small notebooks in it. One is basically scrap paper for to do lists and random lists that won't be meaningful when I'm done with them. One is where I organize my calendar and record important things and idea, the last is my food log.
I may use the same style and change up to the three types of journals explained here. I don't know how you wouldn't use all three ideas in your journal. Plan your day, gather inspirations, and log your creative thoughts. It's a great way to put all three in a small space, and be able to peruse them separately.

@ramonjimenez3315

📓great video. I really enjoyed it. Many moons ago, before smartphones, I used a physical daily planner. Upon reflection, I can honestly say I was less distracted in my overall daily life than I am today. This video motivates me to get back to using a physical daily planner and writing down my thoughts and notes. Thanks for your content.
