The dreams of the 60's didn't die. We just changed our clothes.
HSU class of "74"

@BrianandLesliesMommy

Hi there. I realize this video is two years old, but I just found it. I went to college at HSU starting in 89. I want to thank you for documenting so much of the town in this video. Even though I haven’t lived there in years it always felt like my true home and I still believe I left part of my soul there when I left. I can’t and Incan believe how much it still looks the same and I’m so happy to see that so many shops I patronized back then are still in operation (at least two years ago). I took a film class at HSU and it was basically going to that old theater each week to watch a movie and then writing a paper about it. I rode my bike from Arcata through the bottoms and then I to Mckinleyville to work at a pizza place there. This video is what my soul needed tonight. I’m hoping to start a more nomadic life in the next year now that my kids are grown and going home to Arcata is definitely on my list of places to go. Thanks again for doing such an amazing job on this video. Peace☮️✌️

This isn't just a video, it was like watching a documentary. Great work!

Ohh Julia Butterfly, I remember reading her books years ago …
Thanks for the video

Julia, great job editing! I, too, will be 51 in March, never married, no children. Your experiences, both positive and challenging, have made you into the deep, thoughtful, intelligent, caring person you are today. I believe we OG single women have so much to offer, bc we had to develop skills that a married woman with kids did not necessarily have to develop. Being with yourself can force you to grow roots deeper, and find what you truly believe, without the distraction of caring for a family. You must become self-sufficient, protect yourself, and solve problems on your own. Although a good marriage and offspring can a beautiful experience, not everyone will have that. We must grow where we are planted! Peace, blessings, and much respect!🌿

I love the way you tell the story of the little oasis

@ThePangeaMan

Arcata is the most Vanlife friendly town that exists. I love it there.

Great video… I love the redwoods. I’m a RN and relocating up to northern calif. I hope to visit beautiful Arcata

@bluestormknight

that was a wonderful video, awesome job

@Chris-js6oz

Beautiful video. I lived in Eureka from 2014 - 2019 and always loved going to Arcata to get the best vegetarian food. I'm currently in Florida, which I loathe, but about to drive to Boise to live in my SUV so I can save up and by something bigger,. And the weather is so much better there. Good luck on the bus deal.

@marksmith296

1979 -1999 . I miss the trees and my friends there. Victor the mayor married us at Grizzly Adam's Park. Local bluegrass, flipping crab and salmon on an open fire, mushrooms in the trees. Our wedding invites were bring fun and Frisbees. I put a white picket fence around our tent for our honeymoon

@peaceseeker123

Cool video thanks for the effort you put into making it rock on
