Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer says Donald Trump’s strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities will “go down in history” as one the best military efforts the US has ever performed.

President Donald Trump's fragile ceasefire has collapsed less than 24 hours after it was announced as Israel and Iran return to the battleground with a bigger conflict now brewing in the Middle East.

“The level of precision, engagement, deception, coordination, joint-ness between the Navy and the Air Force is something that history books will record,” Mr Spicer said.
