How To Fake An Ocean

How do you train sailors to operate in some of Australia's most treacherous waters without accidentally sinking million-dollar vessels? You build them a world-class simulator of course.
In this video we go behind the scenes at the Australian Maritime College to take a look at how engineers literally build their own oceans to get the data needed to make it work. From the real ships to the small-scale model test basin (literally an indoor ocean) and towing tank this is some amazing Australian Engineering.
