Boehm Stirling HB24 "Flammenfresser" Flame-Eater Engine

A brief running video of my new Boehm Stirling "Flammenfresser" flame-eater engine. This engine operates by pulling in hot air and allowing it to cool and contract inside the cylinder, the opposite of an internal-combustion engine. It was invented in the 1750's and was used to power the first motorized tractors. The boiling water on the top of this engine is coolant, to keep the contraction-chamber from overheating. This engine has been slightly modified to keep the sliding valve pressed snug against the side of the engine at all times, which causes the engine to run poorly when cold, but it runs much better once it has warmed up.
