It’s the most powerful position in the world. The job that’s launched wars, ended them, dismantled empires, dropped bombs, and signed peace treaties on aircraft carriers. But for all the decisions, the fame, the scandals, and the speeches, there’s one thing every U.S. president has in common: they all die.
Some quietly. Some spectacularly. Some early. Some long after they were forgotten. Some, maybe, a little too poetically.
This is not a story about how they lived. It’s a story about how they left. Fifty presidents, fifty endings, and the strange, sometimes symbolic, sometimes suspicious, sometimes just plain sad ways that power finally shuts down.
