How to Reset Your YubiKey PIN

Resetting your YubiKey PIN requires the PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) obtained during initial setup. If you have the PUK, use the YubiKey Manager application. Navigate to Applications - PIV and select "Reset PIN." You'll be prompted to enter your PUK, followed by a new PIN twice for confirmation. If you've lost your PUK, the process becomes more complex and might involve contacting your administrator if the YubiKey is part of a managed system. For personal YubiKeys without the PUK, you might need to completely reset the PIV application, effectively deleting all certificates and keys stored on the device. This can be done via the YubiKey Manager, but understand it will erase all PIV data. Always back up crucial data before initiating any reset.
