Mark Zuckerberg announced that Meta would be getting rid of it's U.S. fact-checking program.
Instead, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp, plans to implement a system of "community notes" similar to that used on Elon Musk-owned X, Zuckerberg said. He added that he is also working with Donald Trump's incoming administration to what Zuckerberg labeled "censorship" by foreign governments.
"We're going to work with President Trump to push back on governments around the world. They're going after American companies and pushing to censor more."
Meta will also be moving safety teams overseeing content policies and review out of California to Texas, too.
