Judge orders depositions in deportation case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia

A federal judge is demanding depositions from Trump administration officials in the wrongful deportation case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia — a man sent to El Salvador despite a court order protecting him from removal.

Judge Paula Xinis pressed the Justice Department on what actions it has taken to comply with a Supreme Court order to facilitate his return. The DOJ argues it can't be forced to act on foreign affairs, but Xinis said that's not what she's asking.
