Witnesses stated that the man was attempting to open car doors and refused to leave the area. When a police officer arrived, the suspect — reportedly under the influence of drugs — became aggressive.

Body camera footage captures the moment the suspect charged at the officer, resulting in a violent confrontation. Despite repeated verbal commands and the use of non-lethal force, the officer was ultimately forced to discharge his firearm. The suspect was transported to the hospital, where he later died. The officer sustained minor injuries.
