News breaking today around the details of the Manchester United takeover, and it has emerged that the Qatar bid fronted by Sheikh Jassim was not all it seemed to be at the time. Infact it is being reported that Sheikh Jassim failed numerous times to provide proof of funds in their rumoured £4.5 Billion takeover attempt.
A majority of Manchester United fans preferred the Qatar bid over local Billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, due to the promise of a full take over and clearing the clubs substantial debt. But with Sheikh Jassim pulling out of the race back in October, it left Sir Jim Ratcliffe as the only horse in the race and they went on to complete their 25% investment at the end of last year.
But are these reports accurate becuase it has also been reported too, that Sheikh Jassim has refuted these claims, and that they did infact have sufficient funds for a full takeover. So who is to be believed regarding the eventual failed bid for Manchester United?
With the Glazers taking out another £30 million from Manchester United to cover the legal fees for the takeover procedure, who do the fans blame for not getting the full sale, is it the Glazers or is it Sheikh Jassim?
