1997 BMW 750IL ECT aka engine coolant temperature sensor location

The car been sitting for 20 years..lol..but a few weeks after getting her to start up she started having smoke come out the exhaust and really, really bad misfires. I thought the car was done. but I scanned it and first code was ECT and misfires almost every cylinder...i replaced the sensor..the 1997 uses a double switch 4 pin sensor and it's Not too bad of a job to do..but it did eliminate ECT code, and all the misfires codes. car has 94k miles..I use cheap Autophix 7810 scanner made for BMW.
