Marines Deployed To Los Angeles

The marines have been deployed to Los Angeles. The Pentagon is reportedly looking at creating “rules of engagement” for them if they encounter protesters. This comes as Trump said minutes before this that he doesn’t want a civil war, that the situation is under control, and that this isn’t an insurrection. Trump is also saying that he should arrest Governor Newsom because he ran for office. This comes after Newsom told Trump to come arrest him if he wants to be a quote “tough guy”. In 2020, Trump said he can’t send in the National Guard unless the Governor requests it. A reporter asked today, what changed to enable him to suddenly find that legal authority to deploy the guard? He said the situation has changed because California now has an incompetent governor. Folks, it’s the same dude. It’s still Gavin. California is also suing Trump to take back control of the National Guard. This comes as Trump has them sleeping on the ground in loading docks because they did not make adequate sleeping arrangements. A source with the guard told the San Francisco Chronicle that the guard was wildly underprepared and that they don’t have federal funding for food, water, fuel, equipment, or lodging. Since Trump activated the guard without consulting Governor Newsom, the US government has to pay for everything for these soldiers and make sure they have everything they need. They’re expected to keep sleeping on the ground until the end of the week. Trump still has not invoked the insurrection act, so the guard and the marines can’t even legally help law enforcement. So they just have to stand out in the sun all day.
