Pink Floyd and the roots of Quantum Mechanics

In this journey towards Heisenberg's matrix formulation of quantum mechanics, here I present the classical theory of dispersion and the microscopic description of the refractive index. This description is in conflict with Bohr's atomic model, which led to the quantum theory of dispersion and set the basis for Heisenberg's breakthrough.
