If your Apple TV Remote giving you problems? Here's how you restart it.

Press and hold the control center and volume down buttons at the same time for about five seconds. Release the buttons. The status light on your Apple TV will turn off and on again. And that's it. You should see a remote disconnected notification. Then, the tv remote automatically restarts and you should get a notification that says remove connected.

I've had multiple Apple TVs for around 5 years now and I knew I had remote problems when my audio box, which I was controlling using IR, did not respond but my Apple TV worked fine using iPhone controls. A restart of the apple tv remote fixed the problem. It was the one and only time I've ever had to restart an Apple TV Remote.
