Housing Market Alert: Redfin's Shocking New Data

The U.S. housing market is shifting more and more in favor of buyers.
New listings are up, pending sales are down, and sellers are being urged to price homes fairly to avoid price cuts.
The median U.S. monthly mortgage payment just hit a record high of $2,868, driven by a 6.76% mortgage rate and a 1.8% increase in median sale prices year over year.
Pending home sales are down 3.9% compared to last year — the largest decline in three months. At the same time, home touring activity is up 41% since the start of the year, showing interest remains despite affordability pressures.
Inventory rose 13.6% year over year, with new listings up 5.5%, but homes are sitting longer and fewer are selling above list price.
