Understanding how technology works, makes it so much easier to use it effectively! Technology in scanners is amazing. They work so well, because they're programmed to stop scanning if they sense movement -- to avoid lips, tongues, saliva, blood from getting in the scans. Keep that in mind when you and your assistant are retracting and taking an IOS. Try to get adequate retraction, and then hold it steady while you do the actual scanning. If you've isolated well, and are retracting well, scanning an arch can be done in under 2 mins (under 1 minute when you get good!)
