Have you seen the change of perspectives about jobs and are curious to see how the future of education is adapting to that change?
Want to hear a perspective from the director of career and technical education to best gauge what's the best option to launch your high school student for the future and how both CTE and the real world of work program help set them up for success?
Listen to the director of C.T.E. at Arlington ISD Susan Patterson to hear the difference between CTE and traditional high school education as well as how the program changed the perception of how traditional education is taught in regard to getting a career. Watch how she breaks down some of the misconceptions around CTE and how it can make a difference in fixing the broken education system of today.
In Europe, they implemented a career and workforce approach to the high school curriculum around 1920. This allowed them the ability to meet economic demands and methodically launch their young adults into functioning adult lives. In the US the CTE concept was formally recognized at Berkley in 1990. It's great to see that we are now starting to see this approach become widely executed in the US but also a little crazy that the US is almost 100 years behind European countries and almost 30 years after our governing system agreed that it was our most viable way of producing an economically successful workforce to see it start to take action. I guess better late than never. That is why pepelwerk is so passionate about helping accelerate this change. We partner with secondary educators to offer their students and administration the technology and services they need to make it easier to connect their curriculum to the jobs that are in demand to prepare for the future.
