BIHAR FOOD SERIES. Episode 14 : Dal Pithi / दाल पिठी
➡️ Steps :-
1. Add ¾ cup Arhar Dal, 1 tsp Salt, 1 tsp Turmeric, 1 Bay leaf, 2 ½ cup Water, Ghee
2. Pressure cook until 4-5 whistle
3. For dough - Take 1 cup wheat flour, ½ tsp Salt, ¼ tsp Ajwain. Gradually add water and knead into a smooth dough. Rest dough for 10 min
4. Form small balls from dough and roll into a big semi thick roti
5. Cut small circles using a glass
6. Shape the circle to form Pithi
7. In kadhai, heat Mustard oil. Splutter 1 tsp Cumin seeds, pinch of Heeng, 2 dry Red chilli
8. Add 1 tbsp each Ginger, Garlic, green Chilli
9. Stir fry one chopped Onion until golden brown in colour
10. Add tomato, cook until mushy
11. Add in cooked Dal and 1 cup water. Bring to boil
12. Add Pithis and cook on low flame for 10-15 min
13. Finish off with chopped coriander leaves
14. Pour some ghee, serve hot and Enjoy!!
