The IBAZA association's mission is to support families with poor, vulnerable, and orphans children. As part of their commitment to supporting orphans and vulnerable children through foster families, IBAZA, in collaboration with the BURURI diaspora, has implemented a project aimed at supporting pregnant women to reduce maternal and infant mortality. This project involves monitoring women from pregnancy through to childbirth to decrease mortality rates. It helps pregnant women become aware of certain illnesses and seek treatment if symptoms arise, preventing them from remaining unaware of their health conditions. The women receive consultations, medical prescriptions, and medications. IBAZA has provided three ultrasound machines to three hospitals: the BURURI Hospital, RUTOVU, and MATANA Hospital.. With these ultrasound machines, residents can benefit from ultrasound sessions with follow-ups until childbirth. Training sessions were conducted in 2023 to teach how to use the ultrasound machines, as some individuals were still inexperienced.
The IBAZA association in collaboration with WILDE GANZEN and the Bururi diaspora living in europe have planed to donate three more ultrasound machines, which have already arrived in Burundi from China and will soon be delivered to the communal hospitals of MUGAMBA, SONGA, and VYANDA.
