Why Are Banks Blocking Bitcoin?
The issue comes from the banks themselves. Many UK banks block or restrict crypto transactions due to concerns about fraud, money laundering, and regulations. However, I believe this is overreach—your bank shouldn’t control how you spend your money, especially when they allow riskier activities like gambling.

Method 1: Use a Crypto-Friendly Bank
Some banks completely ban crypto transactions, others restrict them, and only a few fully support them. Here’s a breakdown:

🚫 Banks That Block Crypto: HSBC, Starling, Santander, Chase, Metro Bank, TSB
⚠️ Banks With Restrictions: Lloyds, Halifax, Bank of Scotland, NatWest, Nationwide, Virgin Money, Barclays
✅ Crypto-Friendly Banks: Monzo & Revolut

Method 2: Use an E-Money Account
If switching banks isn’t an option, some Bitcoin-only exchanges offer a workaround. CoinCorner and Strike let you create an E-money account in your name. This allows you to transfer funds from any high street bank without interference and then buy Bitcoin freely.

Open a CoinCorner or Strike account. Set up your E-money account (this gives you a personal sort code & account number). Transfer GBP from your regular bank. Buy Bitcoin without restrictions!
