CD99 Cellular Watch Review: All Features Explained

Hey guys, welcome to Boonbox! Today, we’re checking out the CD99 Cellular Watch. The screen is an Emerald Display, which makes everything look sharp. Plus, you can even use a SIM card in it for calls and texts.

Instruction Manual: To help you set up the watch.
Quick Guide: Explains how to use the SIM card, magnetic charger, and camera.
Magnetic Charger.
Silicon Straps.
SIM Ejector Tool.
Certificate of Quality.
And, of course, the CD99 Cellular Watch.

The CD99 has a plastic frame and dimensions of 48mm x 45mm x 13mm. It looks a bit like a mix between the Apple Watch Ultra and the Apple Watch Series 9, so it won’t fit in cases designed for those watches.

Speakers: Located on the left side, similar to the Apple Watch Ultra.
SIM Tray: You can use a nano SIM card to make and receive calls.
Strap Compatibility: The watch fits 45mm and 49mm Apple Watch Ultra straps.

Performance & Features
Chipset: The watch uses a Stratum 8541 E chip, which makes the watch run smoothly. Apps open quickly, and there’s no lag or overheating.
Memory: The watch has 2GB of RAM, which is plenty for smooth performance. It also has 16GB of storage, which I regret since this is fun to use to store photos, apps, and music etc.
Operating System: The watch runs on Android 8.1.0, which supports most popular apps. It works well for downloading apps from the Google Play Store, keep in mind that apps beyond 8.1 will no longer work, as the last update shown on my watch was made last 2018, and no additionally security update on the mere future.

Connectivity & Networks
Wi-Fi: The Wi-Fi works as well as on other smartphones and laptops. It’s fast and detects all available networks.
SIM Card: The watch supports 4G and 5G networks, though I’ve only been able to test 4G.
Mobile Network: Once you insert a SIM card, the watch will restart and connect to the network. You can use Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE if your carrier supports it.
Hotspot & Tethering: You can also use the watch for USB tethering, Wi-Fi hotspot, and Bluetooth tethering, just like a phone.

Display
AMOLED Screen: The watch has a 2.06-inch AMOLED screen that’s sharp and bright. The resolution is 410x502, which makes text and images look clear.
Curved Display: The screen is curved and protected by a screen protector (which you can remove).
Brightness: The display adjusts well to different lighting conditions, and the colors are vibrant.

Software & Interface
User Interface: The watch has a control center and notifications that you can swipe up or down to access. It also has options like split screen, assistive touch, and customizable watch faces.
Watch Faces: You can choose from several watch faces, many of which are inspired by watchOS. There are static, dynamic, and customizable options.
Custom Watch Faces: You can set your own photo as the watch face from the gallery.
App Menu: You can choose from different menu styles, like WatchOS 9, list view, and more however, what I dont like about this is apps are not arranged alphabetically and no option to do sk.
Touch Gestures: The watch supports raise to wake, screen off dial, and palm gesture to turn off the screen.

Apps & Features
Android Apps: You can download apps like YouTube, WhatsApp, Instagram, Spotify, and more from the Play Store. They all work well on the watch.
Health & Fitness: The watch includes a pedometer, stopwatch, heart rate monitor, and blood oxygen sensor. The sensors are fairly accurate for basic measurements, though results can vary.
Music: You can store music and use the watch as an MP3 player with Bluetooth earphones.

Battery Life
Battery: Despite what the store lists, the watch has an 800mAh battery. It takes about 2-3 hours to fully charge. The battery life is decent—after 50 minutes of use, I lost about 15% battery. With normal use, you can expect 1 day of battery life.
