GREEN SCREEN, Does frame rate matter? Using BlackMagic Ursa 12k and a 6k pocket camera.

This was a studio test for green screen keying for fast moving subjects. Filmed using a BlackMagic Pocket 6k and a BlackMagic Ursa Mini Pro 12k. The 6k was filmed at 60 fps and the 12k was 120 fps. Both did a fantastic job in capturing the footage in Black Magic Raw format. I also used Davinci to key the footage, with the 3D Keyer in edit and not fusion. I find fusion more powerful but it is a lot slower. With edit and the 3D Keyer I can key green screen with only a few clicks, making it super quick.
Note the shadows and reflections, this is a great technique that is super easy and I will get into explaining how that was done in another video.

The result is 100% best. if you can shoot in a faster frame rate you green screen keying will be a lot cleaner. Now it is not just frame rate that plays a factor in quality keying. The problem lys in motion blur. If you increase the shutter speed you have a crisper, cleaner image. This will allow you to get a much nicer edge around your subject.
The main areas to watch are always the fingers and hands. These are always an issue and very often need to be rotoscoped, meaning someone needs to draw around the subject frame by frame to cut out the green screen. Really is a time consumer.
