Workers Over 55 Suffer Record Job Loss Over the Last 6 Months

Employment numbers aren't looking good for older workers. According to the Retirement Equity Lab workers over 55 suffered record job loss over the last six months. In a recent study, the think tank found that workers 55 and older were 17 percent more likely to be laid off than employees between the ages of 35 and 54. This is the first time since 1973 such this unemployment gap has persisted for six months or longer.
