TATA MOTORS LAUNCHES INDIA’S FIRST HYDROGEN-POWERED TRUCK

TATA MOTORS LAUNCHES INDIA’S FIRST HYDROGEN-POWERED TRUCK, FLAGGED OFF BY NITIN GADKARI

New Delhi, March 7: In a groundbreaking move towards sustainable transportation, Tata Motors has launched India’s first hydrogen-powered truck, marking a significant step in green mobility. The truck was officially flagged off by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, reinforcing the government’s commitment to alternative fuels and reducing carbon emissions in the transport sector.

As part of this initiative, a 24-month trial will be conducted, involving 16 hydrogen-powered vehicles. The pilot project aims to evaluate the efficiency, durability, and real-world performance of hydrogen fuel cell technology in commercial transportation.

Speaking at the launch, Nitin Gadkari emphasized the importance of hydrogen as a clean fuel and how such innovations align with India’s vision for a greener and more self-reliant future in mobility. He highlighted that hydrogen-powered vehicles could revolutionize the logistics industry by offering a zero-emission alternative to traditional diesel-powered trucks.

Tata Motors has been at the forefront of electric and alternative fuel innovations in India, and this hydrogen truck launch is a major milestone in their sustainability efforts. The trial results will play a crucial role in shaping future hydrogen-powered mobility solutions in the country.

The initiative is expected to pave the way for large-scale adoption of hydrogen fuel technology, contributing to India's goal of reducing dependency on fossil fuels and cutting down vehicular pollution.
