Introduction to Existential Risk

We provide an overview of doomsday risks categorizing them into natural and anthropogenic sources then summarize some of the most likely threats facing us in the near future. These include rogue artificial intelligence, cosmic events, authoritarianism, climate change, digital disinformation, nuclear weapons and pandemics. It is difficult to predict what the future may hold but we must devote resources to understanding, predicting, and preventing any of these from happening.
