F. Chopin - 12 Etudes Op. 10 (Lukas Geniušas)

A little out of the ordinary video for me to do, but I couldn't help but honor my absolute favorite pianist Lukas Geniušas with my favorite recording by him.

This is a stunning recording live from the Moscow Conservatory. Lukas was 19 years old at that time, performing the complete Chopin etudes, his interpretation of the two sets is incredible! His ideas are always fresh, creative, convincing and so well executed featuring incredible technical control, some fantastic dynamic, color and texture shaping (especially 10/2 10/7 10/8 10/10) delightful and graceful touch (10/5 10/7 10/8 11/11) fire and passion (10/1 10/4 10/12) heart-wrenching lyricism and poetry (10/3 10/6) and one thing that I especially love about his playing is incredibly convincing time control and rubato that is really evident throughout the whole set.

I really hope you enjoy this as much as I do. I'll be posting his Op. 25 set too which is just as good.
