In 2020, designer and builder Charlélie of Concrete Design Paris, quit his job to dedicate myself fully to renovating Parisian apartments. His spaces can be characterized as bright with open layouts, an emphasis on daylight, and a preference for natural materials. There's a strong sense of harmony between the designs of the rooms. A connection to nature is maintained even at the top floor of his Paris one bedroom apartment. In constructing his early projects, Charlélie learned that he was fulfilled in the renovation process; he says, "this whole universe of creation and fabrication is my element."
His top priorities in the space were to allow for as much natural light as possible and to preserve the natural wood beams in the ceiling which he found during demolition. He chose to source matching antique wood for the floor planks, antique radiators from Belgium, and beautiful slate from Italy. In total, the project took 8 months to complete.
On the second floor, Charlélie cut into the ceiling and zinc roof to install four large window panels that open up to an expansive view of the top of the Montmartre hill. Opening these windows not only turns the bedroom into an observatory perfect for star gazing, but it also allows for complete ventilation during the warmer months.
Other details that we loved discovering– plenty of integrated nooks for storage, the concrete Cloud table Charlélie created, and of course the soaking bathtub next to bed. Enjoy this clever and dreamy space! Thanks, Charlélie, for the tour!!

En 2020, Charlélie, designer et constructeur de Concrete Design Paris, a quitté son emploi pour se consacrer pleinement à la rénovation d'appartements parisiens. Ses espaces peuvent être caractérisés par une luminosité avec des agencements ouverts, une emphase sur la lumière du jour et une préférence pour les matériaux naturels. Il y a un fort sentiment d'harmonie entre les conceptions des pièces. Une connexion avec la nature est maintenue même au dernier étage de son appartement parisien d'une chambre. En construisant ses premiers projets, Charlélie a appris qu'il était épanoui dans le processus de rénovation ; il dit : "tout cet univers de création et de fabrication est mon élément".
Ses principales priorités dans l'espace étaient de permettre autant de lumière naturelle que possible et de préserver les poutres en bois naturel du plafond qu'il a trouvées lors de la démolition. Il a choisi de s'approvisionner en bois ancien assorti pour les planches de plancher, en radiateurs anciens de Belgique et en belle ardoise d'Italie. Au total, le projet a duré 8 mois.
Au deuxième étage, Charlélie a découpé le plafond et le toit en zinc pour installer quatre grands panneaux de fenêtres qui s'ouvrent sur une vue imprenable sur le sommet de la butte Montmartre. L'ouverture de ces fenêtres transforme non seulement la chambre en un observatoire parfait pour observer les étoiles, mais permet également une ventilation complète pendant les mois les plus chauds.
Autres détails que nous avons adoré découvrir: de nombreux recoins intégrés pour le rangement, la table Cloud en béton créée par Charlélie et bien sûr la baignoire à côté du lit. Profitez de cet espace astucieux et rêveur! Merci, Charlélie, pour la visite!!
