Gear trains, planetary gear sets, and differentials

This video introduces basic analysis of series and compound series gear trains, kinematics and force/energy analysis of planetary (epicyclic) gear sets, as well as other multi-degree-of-freedom gear trains such as mechanical differentials. This video complements the information in the Shigley's Mechanical Engineering Design Textbook (Chapter 13, 9th edition).
