I collect this specimen from my aquarium. The video was captured from the eyepiece of Nexcope CM701 microscope at 100X with Tucsen 3.0MP CMOS microscope camera. This rotifer sometimes crawls like an inch worm. It uses the adhesive gland on both end of its body and stretch their body to move forward. Sometime it swims like a submarine. It moves the ciliates on trochus in helical motion to propel forward.
My other rotifer video at 400x, it shows the movement of ciliates to feed itself.
