Technology Insights: Infrared Thermography

Our test methods allow us to look inside the components of our launch vehicle Spectrum. The Quality team at Isar Aerospace
uses infrared thermography, a quality assurance method in high-precision production. By heating the components and observing the heat on the surface as infrared radiation, we can not only evaluate the structure and characteristics of the material, and identify areas to be reworked but also detect internal defects in the parts that may have occured during production.
